We list 53 bookable sauna experiences in Rovaniemi from 26 operator names, and what separates them is not the price or the length but what comes with the sauna. Ten are sold around ice swimming, eight are spa or sauna world sessions, six add a meal and fifteen combine two of these or another activity; the other fourteen name only the sauna. A session built around ice swimming is the short one — typically an hour and a quarter — while a combination evening typically runs three and three quarter hours. Twenty-one of the 53 say ice swimming is part of the session and 43 say towels or a bathrobe are provided, so the cold water is the exception and the towel is the rule.

14 of the 53 sauna experiences we list say when in the year they run: 3 all year, 7 in the snow season only, 2 in part of the year that covers both seasons, 2 outside the snow season only. The other 39 do not say, which is not the same as saying they do not run. The snow season here is November to April.
Season comes from the operator’s own availability calendar in Visit Finland DataHub, or from a season stated on the operator’s own page. The snow season means the months when snow covers the ground on at least half the days at the weather station used on this site. A tour without a season simply does not state one.
A sauna is an indoor thing, so the weather decides what happens outside it: the monthly mean temperature is below freezing from November to March. Between 20:00 and 02:00 the average is below −7 °C from December to February, which is the temperature you step out into between rounds. Only 14 of the 53 sessions say which months they run, and several of the ice swimming ones are winter products by nature; the table above is about the weather, not about availability.

How long do sauna experiences take?
Of the 40 tours that state a duration in hours, the typical (median) tour takes 3 h; the shortest 1 h and the longest 5 h 30 min. 13 do not state a usable duration.
Can children join?
10 of the 53 tours here state a minimum age: from 1 year to 10 years (median 6 years); 10 from the operator's own page. The other 43 do not state one, which is not the same as saying children can join — ask the operator. Tours with a stated minimum age of 4 years or less are marked family-friendly.
Is winter clothing included?
9 of 53 tours say winter clothing is included and 1 says it is not included or only on request. 43 do not mention it. Checked from the listing text (on GetYourGuide, the start of the "included" list), so a listing can say more than we found.
How cold is it during the day?
Mean daytime temperature (10:00–16:00) by month: December -6.8 °C, January -10.5 °C, February -7.7 °C. Whether winter clothing is included is a separate question above; the tour list marks it on each tour that states it.
When should I book?
A sauna does not depend on the weather, so it works as the evening plan when a northern lights tour is cancelled. Eighteen of the 53 are sold as private sessions, and those are the ones where the price is often for the whole group rather than per person, so compare them separately. Only nine of the 53 state a comparable per-person price, so for most of them you have to open the booking page to find out what an evening costs.

Background
In Finland a sauna is a room heated to 70–100 °C where you throw water on hot stones, and going between the heat and cold water or snow is the point of it rather than an extra. The listings agree on the equipment: 43 of the 53 say towels, a bathrobe or swimwear are provided, so you rarely need to bring more than yourself. Four of the 53 are also counted as northern lights tours, all of them in the combination group.

Each candidate with a website was checked on its own website. Tour details are taken first from the operator’s own website (or Visit Finland DataHub (opens in a new tab)); booking platforms fill in what the operator’s page does not state.
The tables and tour lists include the sauna experiences in our data that have a working booking link: 53 tours (50 with details from the operator’s own website; listed on: DataHub 17, GetYourGuide 2, operator site 39, visitrovaniemi.fi 1 — the same tour is often listed in several places, so these add up to more than 53), collected 2026-09-21–2026-09-22. Sauna: a sauna named in the tour title, or (if the title names no activity) in the collected listing text. Pages that are not a single bookable session — a season pass, a ticket range, an overview page — were left out after reading the page. 2 tours were left out because they have no working booking link yet. A tour whose operating base is more than 50 km from the centre is listed only when the tour page says it departs from, or picks up in, the destination; the distance is then shown on the tour. Distances are measured from coordinates in Visit Finland DataHub, or from the postal code of the company’s registered address (PRH open data (opens in a new tab); postal code areas from Statistics Finland (opens in a new tab)). Links to operators’ own pages were last checked on : 1404 addresses across every activity on this site, of which 21 did not answer with a working page and are not linked. GetYourGuide and Viator links are not fetched.
